Mud Truck MIA; The Standard Gets Permission to Tango; More!

New, 1 comment

This week's top dish from Eater, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) East Village: Because the world is a dark and cruel place, the Mud Truck was just DOH'd, and then it sped off in a cloud of exhaust and cappuccino foam?the potent mix that got the truck in trouble in the first place?

2) Williamsburg: Way back in the day, the opening of Libation on Ludlow Street signaled to many the final step of Lower East Side gentrification. Now Libation's owners are heading to Williamsburg with a new bar called GoodCo.

3) MePa: What happened to cranky community boards? The Standard hotel's penthouse nightclub, the Boom Boom Room, was just granted a cabaret license, essentially a green light toward becoming a booty-shaking nightclub. Even more amusing: Le Room de Boom's claim that it's "very open to the public."
