Buyer Backout Numbers Down

New, 1 comment

The number of refund requests filed by condo buyers went down in the first quarter from last year's high, Crain's reports. There were 475 condo deposit refund filings in 2009, and so far this year there have been only 43, which will work out to 172 complaints if they continue at the same rate. Because buyers are suddenly more content? Ha! It's actually just because there have been so few contracts signed this year, says lawyer Adam Leitman Bailey. The AG's office won't say how many of the complaints were resolved in the buyers' favor, but we know of at least a few very happy ex-buyers. [Crain's]
