The latest headlines from Curbed Hamptons, our outpost on the East End...
1) Prudential Douglas Elliman's first-quarter Hamptons market report has folks in a tizzy over a 34.6% jump in median sales prices and a massive surge in sales over a year ago. The gains were fueled by a suddenly perky high-end market, which also skewed the numbers a bit. Still, for now, market report master Jonathan Miller says the Hamptons is "stable." Huzzah!
2) They do moving a bit differently over in Sagaponack. Check out this photo gallery showing how a 200,000-pound house gets moved 200 yards across a farm field (sneak preview above). Hint: Delicately!
3) Shopping mall mainstay Chico's is coming to East Hampton's main drag. File under: Apocalypse, Signs Of.
