FDR's Catch of the Day; Apthorp Inspected?

New, 4 comments

KIPS BAY?Jersey barriers and the FDR: Two eyesores normally devoid of any art and creativity?until now! Over the weekend 60 volunteers from New York Cares led by artist Brenda Zlamany painted sardines on a strip of barrier between 24th and 27th Streets. Writes Zlamany: "Originally I was planning on snakes but it quickly became clear that not everyone loves them like I do, so I ended up with anchovies." Snakes would have been more bad ass, but far less appetizing. [CurbedWire Inbox]

UPPER WEST SIDE?We have a call in with the state Attorney General's office to check up on what the heck is going on, but a tipster deep within the Apthorp wrote over the weekend that "Andrew Cuomo and his retinue made a building inspection at the beleaguered Apthorp yesterday afternoon as Feil and Broadwall Management executives looked on anxiously. Meanwhile, people who theoretically 'bought' apartments at the Apthorp for millions of dollars and were expecting to have moved in this past January are now not even permitted into the building to visit their purchases. Strange stuff, no?" For the Apthorp? Not really. [CurbedWire Inbox]
