Plaza Mall Adds One More; Freemans Empire Expands. More!

And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Midtown: Contrary to popular belief, stores are not just closing in the Plaza Retail Collection, the landmark's down-on-its-luck subterranean luxury mall. Ungaro just opened a boutique, it's only NYC store. Good luck!

2) West Village: The Freemans empire already feeds, cuts the hair and dresses the upwardly mobile hipster population, and now there's a brand new Freemans Sporting Club on Bleecker Street from which to stock up on urban woodsman threads. Check out the photos.

3) MePa: On May 12 a pop-up shop will open in the Meatpacking District selling one item: a $1,540 kaftan designed by British designer Matthew Williamson for Belvedere vodka. Has there ever been anything more Meatpacking District than that?
