New York Magazine reveals that this ordinary-looking Sutton Place co-op once belonged to Freddie Mercury. After he picked it up as a pied-a-terre in the early eighties because he liked the views, he Mercuried it up, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors all over the place and silvery satin walls. Which made us pretty darn excited to see the listing photos, until we realized that the current owner (who picked up the place up from Mercury's estate in 1992) completely de-Mercuried it. Now the 3BR, 4.5BA is asking $4.35 million, plus $5,802 in monthly maintenance. Check out how the place looks these days above. But how much would it go for if it still had those mirrors?
