Madoff Penthouse Buyers Find Locked Doors, Defy Karma

New, 4 comments

The Post's Jennifer Gould Keil hangs out with Al and Patsy Kahn, the husband-and-wife toy titan team that purchased Bernard Madoff's Ponzilicious pad at 133 East 64th Street. The Kahns paid $8 million (a markdown) for the place, and they've already gotten a few mysteries for their money, like locked doors without keys that could lead to secret rooms. But hey, what about all those leftover Ponzi particles floating around? Says Patsy Kahn of her husband, "He was worried about the karma, but I just loved the terrace." Another reason the Kahns might not be worried: their current apartment at the Time Warner Center is currently on the market for $33 million. That profit should be enough to renovate the heck out of the Madoff karma.
