To the recent chatter about Long Island City's gentrification reaching critical mass, we must add this: the rendering for the new middle school/high school in the Hunters Point South megaproject. Blog liQcity has the details. By September 2013 this thing's going to be a 145,000-square-foot school building hugging one of the new residential towers, but it walks and talks a little bit like a condo itself. Among other things, it's got a cafeteria with outdoor space and a river view. Snazzy!
