Developer Joe Sitt's Thor Equities has started doing the dirty work of clearing out the innards of the Henderson Building at 1238 Surf Avenue in Coney Island, which is marked for death. Sitt recently announced plans to tear down a strip of historic Coney Island buildings and replace them with temporary stores until he can piggyback on the city's Coney Island redevelopment and build hotels and stuff. He made this announcement while drowning a puppy and cackling maniacally. [Brownstoner]
