New Goldman HQ: So Goldman

New, 3 comments

The New Yorker's Paul Goldberger casts his eye on the new Goldman Sachs headquarters at 200 West Street this week and concludes that the building is a pretty darn perfect metaphor for the firm itself. All the risk-taking work by up-and-coming architects like SHoP and Office dA is inside; the exterior, by the not particularly trendy Henry Cobb, is a "well-tailored suit...From a distance, the building looks utterly unexceptional..but by the time you are close enough to touch...you can tell that a lot of money has been spent."
