The WTC Wears Prada

New, 7 comments

The Observer looks at why a move by magazine giant Condé Nast to 1 World Trade Center from Times Square makes perfect sense. It's a compelling argument: Condé, could rake in subsidies for filling the symbolic tower, and its current landlord is vying for a stake in 1 WTC (meaning it could potentially get out of its current lease early). But Condé's rank and file aren't quite catching FiDi fever. Says one employee: "Even people who could walk there don't want to move there." [NYO; previously]
