It's looking like Neil Bender is going to come out victorious in the legal wrangling over the $1 billion real estate portfolio of late West Village/Downtown land baron William Gottlieb, the WSJ reports. When Bender took over, it was thought that the languishing properties owned by the reclusive Gottlieb might see some action. But then NIMBYs killed the Shake Shack deal, and Bender was accused by some tenants of being a slumlord. Bender's sister and nephew are trying to win control of the Gottlieb properties, aka the Gottlieberties. [WSJ]
