Gramercy Restauranteur Defeats NIMBY Opposition; More!

New, 6 comments

This week's top dish from Eater, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) Gramercy: Restauranteur Cole Miller has won approval for a liquor license for his tapas bar at 38 Gramercy Park North after a long battle in which he hired traffic experts to prove to local residents that the restaurant wouldn't mean more congestion around the park. Restauranteur: 1, NIMBYs: 0.

2) East Village: Japanese place Matsukado has closed after only five months...and owes $30,000 in back rent.

3) UWS: At the Upper West Side Shake Shack this Saturday, the Le-BRAT James. That would be a griddled cheddar bratwurst topped with Tabasco simmered onions. Says the Shake Shack Facebook page, "Tastes like victory!"
