Buy a $2.3M Townhouse, Revive a Defunct Brooklyn Bar

New, 6 comments

Last time we featured a Tuesday Townhouse with a bar, it was a Kent Avenue building waiting for new development condo buyers to move in nearby and get thirsty. This week's townhouse, the three-family 250 DeKalb Avenue, is already in what the listing calls "the most gentrified neighborhood in America." It's Cellars, the now defunct basement bar?which "has suffered some significant water damage but still features a fully stocked bar...tin ceilings and many other details intact"?that needs a little help. Originally asking $2,999,999, it was chopped 23 percent today to $2.3 million. Prospective owners can take redecoration inspiration from Cellars former "leprechaun's cubbyhole" look: "gold fringe on the ceiling, a dizzying Escher-inspired pattern on the floor, velveteen paintings."
