EV Grieve digs up some evidence that the proposed luxury rental building at Houston and Avenue D, with 600-square-foot, $2,800 studios, might actually be happening. The ground floor retail listing is now online, for 9,711 square feet on the ground floor and 4,816 square feet in the basement, rent available on request. Based on neighboring tenants (Duane Reade, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Capital One), the new occupant's likely to be a chain store. We're still going with the alternate universe theory on this one.
