First Set of Balls Meets LIC's New Pole Dance

New, 3 comments

One of the best architecture stunts of the summer is SO-IL's Pole Dance, the winner of this year's Young Architects Program put on by Long Island City art museum P.S. 1. The museum's courtyard will host 100 flexible fiberglass rods supporting a huge net holding up dozens of bouncy balls, because, well, why not? Matt Chaban over at the Archpaper snapped some spy shots of the installation just stuffing a dollar in a museum curator's G-string. Can Pole Dance live up to the renderings or the video? We'll find out soon.
