FiDi's Be@William Crosses Sales Finish Line After Three Years

New, 2 comments

It's a big day for developer SDS Procida. Not only did its Hell's Kitchen newbie The Dillon hit the market, but we've now learned that be@William, a condo collaboration between SDS and Jamestown Properties, has hit the 100 percent sold mark. When the building was a wee Development Du Jour in the booming days of 2007, it was praised as one of the more affordable new developments downtown. Maybe a little too affordable, because the sales team adjusted the prices upward when initial sales seemed promising. Of course, then fall 2008 happened, and judging by the building's recorded sales, the PriceChopper was given a seat at the negotiating table.
Units started off selling at or close to ask, but by fall '09 there were some deep discounts, including a 15.6 percent cut on one studio. Sales are set to relaunch soon at troubled sister building be@Schermerhorn, so we'll see whether these chops run in the family.
