Superior Ink Penthouse Now Asking $6 Million Less

New, 16 comments

As fans of Robert A.M. Stern West Village sensation Superior Ink doubtless remember, Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander paid $25 million for the building's penthouse in an all-cash deal last fall. Then, in a bold move for a bust year, he put it right back on the market?for $39.5 million. Yesterday it was PriceChopped 15 percent, to $33.5 million, or $5,299 per square foot. Alexander bought the 6,321 square feet of space completely raw, and it's in the process of being built out. Rumor had it he didn't actually want to sell until the place was finished, hence the pie-in-the-sky asking price. So does the $6 million chop mean he's feeling a little more ready to let go?
