Shep's Gotta Go?

Shepard Fairey's new mural at Houston and Bowery is actually illegal, the Department of Buildings says. The wall itself was constructed without permits, and the art is an illegal ad for Fairey's new show. The property owner could owe up to $50K in fines, and while the wall can stay if the owner gets a permit, the artwork will have to go no matter what. But it's not like Fairey has a shortage of exposure. [DNAinfo]
