The Port Authority has big dreams of someday tearing down and redesigning LaGuardia airport. Port Authority execs have said for now there's no money for a redesign, but the Observer reports the agency's board has approved a $20.9 million contract for the busy bee architects at Skidmore Owings & Merrill, most of it for the creation of conceptual designs.
