New rental tower Ohm chose to combat its barren Far West Side location by basically throwing a perpetual party: rock concerts in the lobby, light shows, and lockbox drug storage. Plus luxury standards like lounges, a gym, and a game room. When we took a look around the building, we wondered whether all that would be enough to bring in tenants even before Hudson Yards and the rest of the High Line get there. Well, the marketing worked on at least one person who can afford the $3,600/month 2BR tab: Darryl Strawberry. The former Mets and Yankees player has, the Post reports, signed a one-year lease for a 1,050-square-foot apartment while he works on his Strawberry's Grill restaurant, set to open in Queens this summer. Could there be another building field trip ahead?
