Jane Street Stable Gets Landmarks Approval for a Fresh Coat

GREENWICH VILLAGE?This former stable at 30 Jane Street, built in 1870, asked the Landmarks Preservation Commission for a bit of a makeover as part of the ground floor's switch from residential to commercial. The proposal: to paint the facade a creamy white to match the shade in a 1969 photo. With a promise to tweak the window trim, Intern Deanna reports, the proposal sailed through today's LPC meeting.
