Karl Fischer Row Welcomes New Kid on the Block

New, 14 comments

Though it's called Karl Fischer Row for a reason, the block of Williamsburg's Bayard Street home to three of the infamous architect's creations is not closed off to the whims of other T-square jockeys. One example is 14 Bayard, which was a famous holdout (the "Beauty Addiction" building, if you recall) of the McCarren Park condo boom before it couldn't hold out any longer. Brooklyn365 has some construction shots of the new five-story, nine-unit building that has gone up quite quickly following the end of a stop work order. Who dares invade Hot Karl's turf? According to permits, it's Philip Toscano, the best architect of the world. We smell a showdown!
