54 Bond Needs Less Celebrity Buyers, More Real Buyers

New, 4 comments

Do any boring, anonymous rich people get to enter the hallowed halls of the Bouwerie Lane Theater? We sure hope so, because the constant stream of celebrities into the condo-converted landmark at Bowery and Bond has done little more than provide fodder for Jennifer Gould Keil's Post column. The latest boldface names to tread where Gerard Butler, Hugh Grant and others have oohed and aahed (but ultimately not bought) are Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, who have visited the gorgeous triplex penthouse four times in recent weeks. There's an option to combine the penthouse with the fourth-floor unit for $19.9 million, and Keil reports the couple is interested, but with the additional full-floor apartment below thrown in gratis. They're not holding their breath, having recently checked out a townhouse in their native West Village. Poor Bouwerie Lane, at least you still have the fashionistas at Rogan.

Keil's column also has some other vital intel relevant to the Curbediverse.

Turns out that $9,000/month rental listing in Williamsburg's Gretsch building is indeed the penthouse formerly occupied by Josh Hartnett. Also, HGTV has renewed our reality TV obsession Selling New York for a second season. You can't keep a good Kleier down!
