Village Restaurant Embroiled in IvyGate; More!

New, 1 comment

This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) Greenwich Village: The Landmarks Preservation Commission and a group of Village guardians have put a tongue-lashing on celebrity hot spot The Lion for adorning its West 9th Street facade with fake ivy. The fake stuff doesn't have to come down (yet), but The Lion now realizes it ain't the king of this jungle.

2) Union Square: We would've stuck the T.G.I. Friday's double awning of awesomeness photo up top, but we at least wanted to give folks a chance to brace themselves. Click through to thank God it's Friday.

3) East Village/LES: Speaking of chains, check out the map that spells out the total downtown domination of Subway sandwich shops. Pretty soon $5 footlongs will replace actual currency in the exchange for goods and services. And Jared Fogle will rule the world.
