When the owners of 115-125 Seventh Avenue South, aka the Gourmet Garage building, last visited the Landmarks Preservation Commission, they were told to take one more crack at the building's facade after their stucco and glass design didn't quite meet with LPC approval. Last time the LPC sent the Gourmet Garage team home to revise, they weren't heard from again for more than a year. But this time, they only needed three weeks to return with a proposal to reduce the height of those glassy floors on top, shrink the building's signage, and use brick instead of stucco for the rear and sides. The result: LPC approval! Compare the existing building and the newly-approved rendering above.
