For a new store at Broadway near 100th Street, Urban Outfitters plans on finally driving Vanishing New York's Jeremiah totally over the edge. The mainstream hipster emporium plans on splitting the facade into four faux "storefronts" reminiscent of "the streets of New York as they once were," according to the designer. The "ironic statement" will create a fake hat store, hardware store, neighborhood bar and bodega (faux-dega!). The real irony is that most UWSers would probably prefer those stores over an Urban Outfitters. [WSJ]
