Queens Project Not Flushed

New, 1 comment

The City Planning Commission approved controversial Queens development Flushing Commons today, sending the $850 million mixed-use project to the City Council for the next round of debate. If all goes as planned, a big parking lot will become 600 apartments, retail, a YMCA, a 1.5-acre "town square" and other stuff. Expect many more angry signs held up in contentious meetings before that happens. The mayor supports the plan, obvi. [CurbedWire Inbox]
