Latest Blockbuster High Line Penthouse Feels Familiar

New, 15 comments

When it comes to all the interesting new architecture popping up along the High Line in West Chelsea, 459 West 18th Street doesn't get much respect. In fact, the black-and-white condo building designed by Della Valle Bernheimer was even nearly erased by its close competition. This should turn a few heads: A new listing for a duplex penthouse with huge windows and views in three directions, not to mention a private roof deck. The 3,447-square-foot 3BR/4BA is asking $6.5 million, but that's only the latest chapter in this penthouse's long saga.

The penthouse, #PH2, is now listed with Sotheby's, its third brokerage. The spread was first listed by Corcoran for $6.9 million in 2007, during the construction phase. That price eventually climbed all the way up to $8.05 million, before heading to Elliman, where the price eventually plunged to the $6.5 million mark it's at now. The Sotheby's listing popped up four days ago, according to StreetEasy. Third time's the charm?

Floorplan, you say? Right over here, friendo:
