WILLIAMSBURG?The 35-unit condo building planned for a big lot at 53 Broadway (across the street from the Gretsch Building) has been stalled since 2008, when a series of Stop Work Orders were slapped on the property. Last week a Gretsch resident told us a bunch of trucks showed up at the site, and the Gretsch doorman heard the hole was being filled because the developer was getting hit with fines for failing to maintain the property. Now another tipster writes, "The past few days of filling the large hole was met with all sorts of law enforcement shutting the operation down." Drama! [CurbedWire Inbox]
