iPhrenzy Consumes City; Williamsburg Invades Times Square; More!

And now, the latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Midtown, Soho, MePa, Staten Island: Steve Jobs unleashed his latest iPhone on the world today, meaning the city's Apple stores have become ground zero for geeks, gawkers, media, the publicity-hungry and even some people who just wanted a phone. Racked has plenty of coverage, but good God, look at the line this morning outside the Fifth Avenue cube. And the MePa line stretched to New Jersey.

2) Times Square: Forever 21 opens in the old Virgin Megastore space tomorrow, and the store has a New York City theme, with floors based on neighborhoods including Soho, the Meatpacking District and Williamsburg. Yep, Williamsburg and Times Square, together at last!

3) Upper West Side: Speaking of NYC-themed stores, Urban Outfitters has an "ironic" one planned on the UWS, even though the retailer had a chance to open up a store in an actual neighborhood landmark. Oh well.
