Bowery's Amato Opera May Become a Bar; Friday's Goes Gay; More!

New, 6 comments

This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) Union Square: We know you're tired of T.G.I. Friday's Union Square coverage, but did you know about the jazz brunch and the Gay Pride festivities? More like T.G.F.F. (Thank God For Fridays!)

2) East Village: Bowery icon the Amato Opera was sold and shuttered last year. Now, like everything else along the Bowery 2.0, its going to become a bar, probably. Guess the plan to find another theater company to take the space fell through.

3) Upper West Side: A group of UWSers banded together so save the café inside the Fairway grocery store, because a good bagel is just too hard to find in this town.

4) Our Nightmares: Here is a creepy painting of a naked Mario Batali.
