We've always been fans of Tribeca's Artisan Lofts, but our love and support has been mostly kept quiet. In fact, we don't think we've mentioned the place since, like, 2007. This condo conversion of an 80-year-old commercial building is long overdue for an update, so here it is: There's only one unit left, and it's a doozy. Apartments in the BKSK Architects-designed conversion (Tribeca's tallest) have sold for up to $5.75 million, but this penthouse is aiming for $8.995 million, down from an original ask of $11 million. The entire 18th floor comes in at 5BRs/4.5BAs and 3,374-square feet, but in this case, it's not size that matters.
Okay, we don't really mean that, but Artisan Lofts?and this penthouse in particular?has more going for it than roomy layouts and 12' ceilings. The interiors are by Curbed fave Roman & Williams, who may have even topped their 211 Elizabeth kitchens with what they've cooked up here at 143 Reade. And the views. Oh, those views. From the pair of terraces and big windows all around, they're what we imagine hotshot Lehman Brothers VPs were daydreaming about while they calmly steered the world into ruin. Which might be why this one's still on the market! A party was held last week to show off the goods, and we got a peek. Enjoy the sights, and here's the floorplan:
