Renovated West Village Townhouse Goes Mad for Marble

New, 18 comments

A buyer by the name of Triton Enterprises LLC picked up 38 Grove Street, a multi-family apartment building, for $6.9 million in late 2007. One renovation later, 38 Grove Street looks like this. Grew up nice, didn't it? And it knows it: the asking price is now $15.9 million. Since the owner was aiming for "1851 perfection" and nothing says historical accuracy like marble, let's tally it up: there are nine marble wood-burning fireplaces, five marble bathrooms, and two marble powder rooms. But it is 2010, so there's also built-in surround sound. Even with some extravagant brokerbabble and no floorplan, we have to admit we're smitten.
