Lowdown: For years there's been talk about a boutique hotel invasion of Williamsburg's north side, a neighborhood starving for (legal) boarding options. Visiting parents have to stay somewhere, right? Well, one upscale inn is finally nearing the finish line: The Hotel Williamsburg at McCarren Park, operated by Graves World Hospitality. But this long-in-the-works project has so much more in store than just leaving mints on some pillows. This, friends, is where the 'Burg meets the Meatpacking District.

There's also a residential component to this complex (multiple buildings linked by an interior courtyard with entrances on both North 11th Street and North 12th Street) which is called The Residences at The Williamsburg. Condo buyers will get, according to press materials, "coveted VIP access to the landscaped courtyard and pool area surrounded with private cabanas – which is poised to become one of the city’s most exclusive summertime destinations – as well as the hotel's rooftop bar, restaurant and lounge." They'll also have hotel services, including valet parking, housekeeping, 24-hour concierge and room service. Residents will also get discounted hotel rate for friends and family, so screw the pull-out couch purchase.

This one's on a mission to out-luxury every Williamsburg building ever, so the fun doesn't stop there. Residents also have their own common rooftop with Manhattan skyline views and private cabanas. The apartment finishes are high end, and the units come equipped with those Smarthome automation systems that turn on your lights, control your air, move your drapes and raise your children all at the push of a button.

The full website has all the details, renderings and floorplans. The 1BRs feel more like studios and are mostly around 600 square feet. The 2BRs are typically in the 900+ range, and there are some larger options as well. There's a launch party later this month (completion is set for the end of the year), but some listings are already up. Not including outdoor spaces?some as big as the apartments themselves?the average asking prices are $782/foot. Amenity overdrive has come to Williamsburg, and our only question is this: Who gets to perform the ceremonial first cannonball?
