MTA Money Woes

New, 1 comment

Why does the MTA have no money? According to a comptroller's report, it's because the MTA didn't collect $9 million in back rent from its commercial tenants between January 2005 and last August. When asked why, the MTA said attempts to collect rent "commonly result in litigation." Whereas people are generally much nicer when you just pay their rent for them. [NYP]
