After 20 years as the home of Spike Lee's film production company, 40 Acres and Mule, 124 DeKalb Avenue hit the market asking $6 million. Despite the inherent adaptive reuse awesomeness of a fallout shelter/firehouse turned film production company turned pair of duplex condos, nobody wanted it. It was chopped to $4.9 million, then $4.2 million, then taken off the market. But even with two feet of steel and concrete between each floor, the fire (sale) kept spreading: the building's back and asking $3.9 million. Won't somebody do the right thing and buy it already?
