We're heading out early, y'all. Enjoy the July 4th fun in the sun!
SOHO?A few years back, when bus bulbs began to bloom on lower Broadway, lots of locals weren't so thrilled. An entire traffic lane was lost and the pedestrian flow became what can be categorized as "crammed." But now the urbanistas at the Department of Transportation have reworked the bulbs, removing the fences and replacing them with a series of low-slung benches. The addition of the minimalist street furniture is proving popular with those waiting for a bus. But it seems those who like the benches most are the vendors who set up shop on the sidewalks along the west side of Broadway. [CurbedWire Staff]
UPPER EAST SIDE?The news is out that HGTV's Selling New York will return for a second season, and we've received word on the first (or one of the first, at least) buildings that will be featured: The Lucida. SNY stars Gumley Haft Kleier will be having a soirée on the penthouse terrace of Extell's 85th Street building next week that will be filmed for the show. The Lucida also made a cameo appearance in the reality show's first episode last season. [CurbedWire Staff]
