These Apartments are Just Average

The latest Manhattan market reports put the price of an average apartment at $1.3 million, so the Times set out to see how "average" translates these days. Here's an average place in the new Village Green: "Mr. Yenal says his apartment is exceptional because it is 1,162 square feet, has 'tons of light, a balcony,' and is 'very sort of peaceful.' Now he has room for his parents to visit...and the entertaining sounds of children playing kickball in the schoolyard below." Sounds very sort of noisy, but at least he's not an "above average" buyer. They get prisons for neighbors. [NYT]
