Continuing the recent trend of portraying Manhattan as one big retirement home, Community Board 1 has produced a 55-page "Seniors' Guide for Lower Manhattan." The guide covers senior centers and housing (one seniors' residence in the 'hood charges $5,550 a month!), health and safety resources, transportation benefits and more, and features this ominous stat in the introduction: "The New York State Department for Aging estimates that seniors will outnumber school-aged children in New York City by 2030." Better make that playground bigger. [Broadsheet]
