With the City Council set to vote on (and likely approve) the redevelopment of Williamsburg's old Domino Sugar refinery this week, a new minor controversy! The developers dangled the carrot of affordable housing making up 30% of the project to rally support, but the zoning amendment includes only the standard language of 20% affordable housing. The 30% pledge is in a "Memorandum of Understanding," which would make CPC Resources real jerks to renege on. Still, one activist thinks the city might get fleeced. A final anti-Domino Hail Mary pass? [NYP; previously]
