Renovated East Village House Doesn't Meet High Pricing Hopes

New, 2 comments

Back in November, the 6BR, 4.5BA house at 114 East 10th Street was the first to get the Tuesday Townhouse treatment. Despite the love of many Curbed commenters, it took a little while for a sale: the broker tells us the property closed this week. It was asking $6.995 million in the fall and sold, after a few PriceChops, in a $5 million all-cash deal. If we're using our abacus correctly, that's a 28.5 percent discount from the original asking price. The house last changed hands for $3.32 million in 2005, but there was a gut renovation in the intervening years. So who needs that tiny violin more, buyer or seller?
