Money Miracle on 34th Street

New, 19 comments

The Department of Transportation's plan to remake 34th Street roared back into our lives in April, and now the proposal's picking up speed. The plan, which would create dedicated two-way bus lanes on 34th street, plus a one-block pedestrian plaza, has gotten $18 million in federal government funding. The city's still working on the design, which might not have a pedestrian plaza after all, but the Journal's got the first rendering we've seen. Why so quiet, 34th Street? [WSJ; previously]
