Rege read former Parks Department commish Henry Stern's letter in the Post about the Department of Transportation's plans to remove 87 trees along the Pelham Parkway for road improvements, and the Bronx-born talk show host wasn't pleased. So yesterday Old Man Philbin went on the air to send a message to the DOT, and remind us that city buses used to cost a nickel. Take that, Janette Sadik-Khan!
