Target's Fashion Show at The Standard Gets Crazier; More!

New, 3 comments

And now, the latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) MePa: As if Target's planned fashion, light, and dance show at the Standard Hotel weren't already crazy enough, the latest reports reveal that the theme for the models was "kaleidoscope" and the music includes a 30-piece orchestra, a 10-person chorus, and a human heartbeat.

2) UES: Fairway will be opening a new location at 240 East 86th Street early next year. Adding fuel to the UWS vs. UES fire, the new location will be a three-floor store about the same size as the Broadway and 74th Street Fairway flagship.

3) Soho: Finnish home decor company Marimekko is on a bit of an expansion tear, with a new Manhattan showroom opening this month and a 1,775-square-foot store-within-a-store in Soho's Crate & Barrel in mid-October.
