Northside gamechanger The Williamsburg Hotel & Residences is aiming for a spring debut, and construction on the boutique hotel/luxury condo/pool party/nightlife destination is chugging along. A tipster passed along word this morning that the scaffolding is coming down off the North 11th Street side of the two-building complex, adding, "I hate orange." Orange?! It looked more like brown in the renderings. We immediately dispatch our roving photog Will Femia to the scene. Take a look.
On another note, we've previously said that the development is giving off a vague whiff of Meatpacking District, but hotel operator Ben Graves tells the Brooklyn Paper that's not what he's going for: "The one thing we’re trying not to be is a nightclub. We will have some nice lounges and bars, but they will be approachable." Power to the people! But remember, the pool and its private cabanas are for condo buyers only. And that must be a powerful lure, because reps tell us the 57-unit project is already 30% sold after two months on the market.
