Eataly Mania in Madison Square; Peels Opens on the Bowery; More!

New, 3 comments

This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) Flatiron: Finally, Mario Batali's Italian mega-mart, Eataly, is set to open in the old International Toy Center at 200 Fifth Avenue next to Madison Square Park. It's a supermarket. No, it's a food court. No, it's a gourmet restaurant. No, it's a beer garden. It's everything good in this world. Here's everything you need to know about the 50,000-square-foot behemoth.

2) Harlem: Star chef Marcus Samuelsson has been building buzz for his Red Rooster restaurant on Lenox Avenue for what feels like forever. Here's some more! The place,?bar, café, fine dining destination?has been delayed until October.

3) Williamsburg: Closed since a fire last February, cozy soul food spot The Brooklyn Star (from a Momofuku alum) will reopen in a few months, but in a different location. They're taking over the old Lazy Catfish space on Lorimer and Conselyea.

4) East Village: The latest Bowery newcomer to get locals in a tizzy: Peels, from the Freemans team. We can attest that the buttermilk biscuits are pretty darn spectacular.
