The empty lot at the corner of Sixth Street and Cooper Square has been a staging area for Cooper Union construction and the site of some late-night controversy when a World Trade Center mural on the side of the lot was painted over with another skyline mural in 2004. Now even the new mural might not be long for this world, because, EV Grieve reports, the lot is now up for sale as a development site. There's no official listing yet, just the foreboding signage.
