Barnes & Noble May Become Century 21; Fashion Hits HL23

New, 2 comments

And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) UWS: Lincoln Center's Barnes & Noble is closing, and while everyone's getting weepy over it, Century 21 may be making plans to move in.

2) West Chelsea: First HL23 got a fake cotton field, and now it's getting the first of its promised pop-up shops. These shops?called Building Fashion at HL23?pair new, otherwise shop-less designers with young architects who will redo the building's sales office to suit the label. The one with fun-house mirrors sounds right up HL23's alley.

3) UWS: Another real estate-designer collab is happening at the Upper West Side's Aldyn, where Elie Tahari, Nicole Miller, and Diane von Furstenberg have designed rooms based on their own collections. The $25 admission fee makes it pricier than an open house, but hey, the chance that the curtains will match the couch: also much higher.
