As part of Delta's massive revamping of its Kennedy terminals, the former PanAm Worldport (aka Terminal 3) will be demolished, flying-saucer-roof and all. Lasting symbols of the stylish 1960s jet age are having a tough go of things at Kennedy lately. The Port Authority also wants to demolish I.M. Pei's "Sundrome," which is the old Terminal 6. At least Eero Saarinen's old Terminal 5 is landmarked, so we'll still have a place to grab a martini and grope a stewardess?er, if it ever reopens. [NYT]
